Responsibilities Safely operate charter buses, motor coaches, school buses, and shuttle vehicles on scheduled routes and special trips. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance with transportation safety regulations. Navigate city streets efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and state transportation regulations. Assist passengers with boarding, including those with special needs or requiring additional passenger assistance. Communicate effectively with dispatch using two-way radios to coordinate routes and address any issues promptly. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and trip details in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Provide excellent customer service by creating a positive travel experience and addressing passenger inquiries professionally. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements such as air brake and passenger transport. Proven experience in bus driving, shuttle driving, or delivery driver roles with a focus on safety and customer service. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems for basic troubleshooting and maintenance awareness. Knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and transportation safety regulations. Ability to drive in adverse weather conditions and navigate city streets confidently. Excellent communication skills for interacting with passengers and coordinating with dispatch teams via two-way radios. Prior experience with vehicle inspections, passenger assistance, especially for passengers with special needs. Familiarity with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws governing commercial driving.
