The City of Wylie Community Park Center (formerly Senior Recreation Center) has an exciting opportunity for a part time Bus Driver. The selected applicant will work in partnership with other employees, departments/divisions, external entities and the public to deliver effective and innovative recreation services. Will provide safe, healthy, and entertaining services to the guests at assigned Wylie Recreation Facility. This is accomplished by driving, providing transportation services, and maintaining vehicle maintenance records. Supervision is provided by the assigned Recreation Supervisor and assigned Recreation Programmer. •Hourly rate listed in posting is non-negotiable•The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices. Provides transportation to program participants by managing and driving bus route, communicating with riders, assisting with loading or unloading needs, and maintaining spreadsheet of bus riders' information. Transports participants in bus or van as needed. Provides transportation on field trips by picking up participants, acting as chaperone, assisting participants with needs, and ensuring everyone is accounted for. Provides customer service and guest relations by responding to patron and staff phone calls and face-to-face inquiries, assisting patrons and staff in various areas of the facilities, engaging in conflict resolution with patrons and staff, assisting patrons with a variety of equipment when necessary, supervising participants during programs, and enforcing program and facility rules, regulations, and procedures. Provides facility, equipment, and vehicle supervision by overseeing maintenance records, maintaining cleaning schedules for equipment and vehicles, performing some cleaning and minor maintenance on equipment and or vehicles, coordinating larger cleaning and maintenance needs with staff and vendors, and assisting with the set up and tear down of activities. Actively participates in staff training, meetings, and in-service programs. Performs as a responsible steward of the public trust and strives for excellence in public service, enhancing the quality of life for all. Acts in a civil, respectful manner at all times to management, co-workers and others. Other duties as may be assigned. Work requires the ability and desire to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes, and to perform routine operation of machines. Level of knowledge is equivalent to less than High School or equivalency. CPR, First Aid, and AED within six months of hire. Valid Driver's License. Must have Texas Driver's License within 60 days of hire. Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training courses as outlined by Emergency Management after hire.
