Crescent-Bus Driver and Custodial Duties

Job Description

Contract Terms:
Bus Driving:
Wage starts at $27.28/hr for bus duties; Split-shift, approx. 3 hours per day, plus athletic and field trip rotation
Custodial:
Wage starts at $25.03/hr for custodial duties; 5 hours/day, during non-school hours (may split time) Pay is based on placement on the district salary schedule.
Job Summary:
This hybrid role combines campus facilities custodial work with school bus driving duties. The employee works under the direct supervision of the Facilities and Transportation Director. Bus drivers are responsible for transporting students to and from school and on designated extra-curricular activities and field trips. Driver hours are from approximately 6:45 to 8 a.m. and from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday during the school year. Extra-curricular and field trips may require longer daytime and/or evening hours.
Requirements:
The successful applicant must have, or be willing to acquire, a valid Washington State Driver's License and a Class B CDL with a passenger and school bus endorsement. Paid training is available, with signed 2-year commitment. Additional requirements include current First Aid Card and DOT physical. School bus drivers are also subject to random drug/alcohol testing.
Skills:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students, parents and the community. Be able to remain flexible and work effectively under pressure. Maintain confidentiality of information. Be able to maintain a congenial approach in a busy student-centered environment. Be able to follow directions and work with the administration and staff of the Crescent School District. Safely lift and move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools weighing at least 50 pounds. Strong resourcefulness to work independently with minimal daily supervision for custodial work. Ability to support and enforce all district policies, OSHA rules, and health regulations. Communicate effectively, clearly, and professionally with co-workers and administrators.
