Job Description

Wenatchee Campus. Part-time and on-call basis driving a 38-passenger bus or 29-passenger bus. This position will provide safe and efficient transportation so that students, faculty, and staff may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the college's curriculum and extra-curricular programs, including athletic games, summer international program trips and fieldtrips. Flexible schedule, per diem meals and lodging included on all long or overnight trips. Looking for someone reliable, flexible and friendly who enjoys supporting student success.

General Duties:

Operate the bus in all weather conditions including fog, rain, sleet, snow and ice. Inspect and clean bus and related equipment as required. Operate passenger buses in accordance with the laws of Washington and WVC policies. Maintain bus equipment and accessories including fire extinguishers, highway warning kits, snow chains, first aid kits, etc. Legibly and accurately complete forms, records, time sheets, trip requests, trouble reports, misconduct reports, accident reports and other clerical type activities as may be required. Minimum required education, experience, skills, & abilities/competencies: Minimum age 25. High School graduate or equivalent. Possess a valid Washington state driver's license with the appropriate

CDL License & Endorsements:
Class B Passenger Endorsement:

Required for drivers of passenger vehicles designed to carry 16 or more passengers including the driver and school buses.

School Bus Endorsement:

Required for drivers who drive any size of school bus. A school bus is a vehicle regularly used to transport children to and from school or in conjunction with school activities, which meets the school bus specifications established by the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Possess a current first aid card or ability to obtain one. Minimum of two years driving experience.

Physical Work Requirements:

The position requires frequent sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, walking, and crouching; ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Physical requirements as laid out by the DOT.
