Job Description

Marana Detention Center | Marana, AZ $31.50 per hour | Full-time Directly supervise the mailroom clerk. Responsible for performing postal duties in the mailroom requiring familiarity with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives. Sort, open, inspect and scan detainee correspondence. Maintain related records. Deliver detainee mail. Act as authorized courier for receipt of registered, special delivery or other mails received for employees and/or detainees. Sort departmental mail. Provide information and responses to inquiries regarding routine mailroom procedures. Maintain contact with US Postal Service personnel and private mail carriers (i.e. UPS, Federal Express, etc.). Operate postal equipment and ascertain postage needed. Prepare various forms related to the processing of detainee correspondence and mailroom functions. Deliver outgoing mail each afternoon to the post office. Requires regular pushing and pulling of mail carts. What you will need High school diploma or GED, two (2) years related mailroom experience required US Citizenship or Lawful US Permanent Resident required. Prior supervisory experience highly desired. Must successfully complete required preservice training. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
