Khaki pants Brown pants Tan pants Blue pants Black pants Cargo pants General Summary The Driver Courier Logistics performs daily assigned route duties to areas serviced to assure accurate and timely delivery of incoming/outgoing mail, linens, reports, packages, biological specimens, and patient records. The Driver maintains a daily truck log of each stop performed in accordance with department performance measures. The Driver actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility for maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Knowledge and Skills Required Ability to communicate effectively with Hospital personnel Ability to resolve basic delivery problems with customers Ability to work effectively with people Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines Knowledge of Orlando and surrounding areas Knowledge of DOT regulations Knowledge and Skills Preferred Ability to use Hospital gas services and computer systems Education and Experience Preferred High school graduate or equivalent Previous courier experience Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required Valid Class A Florida Driver's License Driving record must be in accordance with Florida Hospital policy Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities Demonstrates, through behavior, Florida Hospital's core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork. Safely transports biological specimens and related paperwork according to the defined schedule and department expectations. Safely transports equipment, supplies, reports, and similar items according to department expectations. Maintains security and proper handling of all items transported. Safely transports patient care records according to departmental policy. Releases films to physicians' offices utilizing proper sign-out forms. Tracks jackets and films to other facilities. Adheres to defined schedules and expectations as determined by Management. Maintains the care and cleanliness of the vehicle at all times. Operates hospital vehicles in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida. Reports repair issues affecting the proper use and safe operation of all assigned Hospital vehicles. Uses functions of computer systems, barcode readers, fax machines, copiers, and scanners. Safely transports Pharmacy preparations and related paperwork according to the defined schedule and department expectations. Maintains communication as required and follows safe driving practices. Participates in and maintains knowledge of the requirements for transporting Pharmacy preparations. At all times, maintains the integrity of items being transported and considers all external factors, as specified, that affect the safe transport of Pharmacy preparations. Adheres strictly to the Florida Hospital Compliance Plan and the rules and regulations of applicable regulatory authorities. Protects the confidentiality of patient information and results at all times. Appropriately uses PPE and follows safety policies, including hand-washing. Understands and adheres to the Chemical Hygiene Plan. Employee job duties may include transportation of hazardous materials from the point of generation to a designated delivery area. Employee will be required to complete initial training prior to handling hazardous materials, as well as refresher training, including proper handling of Pharmacy preparations. All transportation vehicles must have an available chemical spill kit. Meets with the Supervisor, Manager, and Director as scheduled. Notifies the Supervisor immediately of any traffic tickets or accidents. Communicates any discrepancies or irregularities to Management. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the department. Key Requirements Valid Class A Florida Driver's License Driving record in accordance with Florida Hospital policy Ability to work the 3rd shift, Thursday through Monday, 12:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Ability to work 40 hours per week Ability to safely transport mail, linens, reports, packages, biological specimens, Pharmacy preparations, equipment, supplies, and patient records Knowledge of DOT regulations Knowledge of Orlando and surrounding areas Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines Strong communication and customer service skills
