Duties Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load, unload, and secure packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks. Plan efficient routes for overnight deliveries to maximize productivity while maintaining safety standards. Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in optimal condition for delivery, including checking manual transmission operation if applicable. Deliver packages directly to customers' locations with professionalism and excellent customer service skills, ensuring accurate and complete deliveries. Maintain detailed records of deliveries, including signatures, delivery times, and any issues encountered during routes. Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy or bulky items to prevent injuries or damage. Skills Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations involving material handling equipment operation. Strong knowledge of commercial driving, including van driver or box truck experience with manual transmission preferred. Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform manual handling tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with route driving, adhering to traffic laws, and DOT regulations for weight handling in the workplace. Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients during deliveries. Experience operating mobile devices for navigation, communication, or delivery documentation purposes. Knowledge of warehouse operations and safety protocols related to load & unload procedures and moving heavy items safely.
