Description At SageWest Health Care, we are committed to providing our patients with the highest quality, family-friendly care available. SageWest Health Care is located in Fremont County, Wyoming, encompassing two hospitals, one in Riverton and one in Lander. Each offers a wide range of healthcare services, including inpatient medical services, emergency room services, surgical services, imaging services, laboratory diagnostic services, primary care, infusion services, and women's health. Job Summary The Courier is responsible for safely transporting information, mail, packages, and laboratory specimens to and from various locations within and outside of the hospital. This role ensures timely and secure delivery services in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements while providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Essential Functions Picks up, transports, and delivers interdepartmental mail, medical records, packages, medications, and laboratory specimens Assists patients entering or exiting the vehicle if assigned to patient transport duties Ensures vehicle cleanliness, safety, and maintenance in accordance with operational policies Maintains accurate records of deliveries and follows proper chain of custody for sensitive items Uses effective communication skills to provide information and directions to patients and visitors as needed Maintains compliance with infection prevention and safety guidelines Operates hospital-provided vehicle in a safe and professional manner Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent time management and route planning ability Basic knowledge of hospital departments and delivery procedures Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Must be able to read maps and navigate efficiently using GPS or directions Proficient in basic computer and communication technologies Frequent walking, standing, sitting, and lifting up to 50 pounds Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, squatting, and climbing stairs Visual and hearing acuity required for safe driving and patient interaction Operates in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments including exposure to weather, traffic, and potential biohazards Regular use of vehicles and equipment associated with transport and delivery services Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required Licenses/Certifications Valid state-issued driver's license required Certifications such as CPI or Handle with Care must be obtained within time frame required by facility policy Experience Minimum two (2) years of full-time work experience preferred Prior experience in courier or transportation services preferred
