About bluSkyz Aviation Services bluSkyz Aviation Services, L.L.C. is a vendor service provider to the airline industry, currently seeking Aircraft Deicers to support the Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) community. Our team works in demanding winter conditions, and we take pride in our culture of safety, teamwork, and reliability. Job Overview bluSkyz is hiring Aircraft Deicers for the upcoming winter season at EWR. Deicers apply deicing and anti-icing fluid to aircraft using company ground equipment, under the direction of a Team Lead, helping ensure every flight departs safely in winter weather. Prior experience and training are preferred but not necessary. We will train those who demonstrate the willingness to learn. To be successful in this role, you must be comfortable working at various heights, have strong attention to detail, and be able to operate all equipment in a safe manner. Please note that this is a seasonal position tied to the winter deicing season, generally running from September through April. It is not a full-time, year-round position. What You'll Do Operate ground equipment safely, with the objective to deice and anti-ice aircraft in accordance with Company and government regulations. Perform safety checks to ensure deicing and anti-icing equipment is in proper working order. Fill deicing trucks with fuel and fluid necessary for operational needs. Demonstrate techniques learned during training to deice and anti-ice aircraft safely, accurately, and in a timely fashion. Follow all safety instructions and procedures, including when to approach an aircraft, how to position equipment, and when to stop work due to unsafe conditions. Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniform items at all times while on duty. Communicate concerns to the management team as they arise, and stay in close contact with your Team Lead and fellow Deicers throughout each shift. Complete required training, including the client's seasonal deicing training program, and maintain proficiency throughout the season. Follow all bluSkyz, FAA, OSHA, TSA, and Port Authority requirements applicable to work on the airfield. What We're Looking For Prior experience and training preferred but not required. Comprehensive paid training is provided to candidates who demonstrate a willingness to learn. Must attend all required classroom and practical training sessions. Ability to work comfortably at various heights, including on elevated bucket or boom platforms 40 feet or more off the ground. Strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain alert and vigilant at all times while on duty. Ability to work outdoors in extreme winter weather conditions for extended periods. Ability to work a variable, on-call schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on weather and flight operations during the season. Ability to stand, walk, and move around ramp and equipment areas for extended periods, and to lift or move equipment and supplies as needed. Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and management staff, and to work well as part of a team. Valid U.S. driver's license in good standing (required) . Willingness to work in a drug-free workplace, including compliance with federal pre-employment and safety-sensitive drug testing requirements. Ability to obtain and maintain a Port Authority-issued Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge. Must be at least 18 years of age. Pay and How to Apply This position pays $22.00 per hour.
