Dispatcher/Driver Currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic person to assist a growing Non-Emergency Medical Transportation company with dispatching, driving and light office work. This position entails dispatching part time with light office work and driving a wheelchair van part time. This position will require a great deal of independence. This position will work remote 50% of the time.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Dispatcher is responsible for taking phone calls and email requests for wheel chair assistance/transport from hospitals, nursing homes, home care ect. This includes providing excellent customer service, documenting transport trips to the appropriate location and dispatching drivers.
Non-Emergency Medical Driver:
Transport patients to and from doctors appointments, hospitals, nursing homes, private residence ect. Secure wheelchairs and other passengers for safety. Willing to transport patients long distances up including and up to 3-4 hours away. Obey all traffic laws.
Light office work:
This includes billing, documentation in dispatch software, documentation in Microsoft applications, HR functions and other duties as assigned.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Handles phone calls and emails in a courteous and professional manner. Selects and dispatches appropriate drivers for wheel chair or NO-LIFT wheelchair calls. Obtain or able to obtain knowledge of local area including medical facilities, nursing homes, hospitals ect. Responsible for accuracy of schedules, logs, and other paperwork Assists drivers with applicable details and needs related to the transport Driver passengers in a safe and appropriate manner according to road conditions while obeying all traffic laws. Maintains a current working knowledge of all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations Assist with collecting billing information as needed Prepare month end billing statements as needed Assist with HR functions as needed including screening drivers, new hire paperwork, conducting reference checks and employment verification. Other duties as assigned by the Dispatch Supervisor. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and
ABILITIES
Skilled in reading and writing English. Ability to communicate clearly via telephone and email. Ability to function effectively in stressful situations. Ability to plan and organize driver schedules Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately. Possess good typing skills. Ability to understand basic computer applications. Able to work independently
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Four-year high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to work independently
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to push patients in wheelchairs and assist patients with getting into wheelchairs. Must be able to assist patients in getting into their own residence.
WORKING CONDITIONS
On the road 50% of the time. General office environment 50% of the time.
