Job Description

Job Summary Join our team as a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver and play a vital role in providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation services for patients requiring non-emergency medical care. In this role, you will operate passenger vehicles, including wheelchair vans, to transport clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and other essential destinations. Your dedication will ensure timely arrivals while maintaining the highest standards of safety, customer service, and professionalism. Duties Safely operate passenger and wheelchair accessible vans to transport clients following established schedules and routes. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring comfort and safety at all times. Adhere strictly to traffic regulations, state transportation laws, and company policies during all driving activities. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections to ensure proper functioning; report any maintenance issues promptly. Communicate effectively with clients regarding pick-up times, route details, and any delays or changes in schedule. Use GPS navigation systems to follow optimized routes efficiently while adjusting for traffic or road conditions as needed. Handle heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility devices or medical equipment ensuring proper manual handling techniques are followed. Document trip details accurately in logs or electronic systems; complete incident reports if necessary. Provide excellent customer service by demonstrating professionalism, patience, and empathy during client interactions. Experience Proven experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, van driver, chauffeur, or shuttle operator with a strong focus on passenger safety and customer service is a plus. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes to ensure timely arrivals. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must pass Checkr background check as well as sexual predator background check. Defensive driving course, PASS course, first aid course and online MTM course modules will be required if not already certified. Employer will assist in the completion of all certification requirements. Ability to adhere to all traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and company policies consistently. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members while maintaining professionalism at all times. Must be able to pass a one time seven panel drug screen.
