Job Description

Position Overview CDS Mestel currently has an opening for a Truck Driver in the New York area. This individual will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of construction materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to and from project sites throughout the Tri-State Area. The Truck Driver will coordinate deliveries with project teams and warehouse personnel, maintain the assigned vehicle in safe operating condition, and ensure all loads are properly secured and transported in compliance with company safety procedures and applicable transportation regulations.
Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate company trucks to transport construction materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to job sites and other designated locations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in a safe and organized manner.
  • Coordinate daily delivery schedules and site access with project managers, superintendents, warehouse personnel, and field staff.
  • Maintain accurate delivery tickets, vehicle logs, receipts, and other required documentation.
  • Follow all company safety policies, DOT requirements, traffic laws, and jobsite rules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional company vehicle.
  • Work closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager to organize, stage, and maintain construction materials, tools, equipment, and supplies within the warehouse.
  • Assist with keeping the warehouse clean, orderly, and safe, including sweeping, clearing aisles and work areas, and maintaining organized storage locations.
  • Collect and dispose of garbage, packaging, scrap material, and construction debris by placing it into the designated dumpster or debris container.
  • Assist the Warehouse Operations Manager with receiving, loading, unloading, moving, and preparing materials for delivery to project sites as needed.
  • Assist with material handling and general warehouse or jobsite support when required.
  • Plan efficient routes while accounting for traffic, site restrictions, delivery windows, and construction logistics.
  • Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Protect company property and transported materials from damage, loss, or theft.
  • Be dependable, punctual, and available to adjust to project delivery needs as required.
  • Driving capabilities for a box truck and/or a Ford Sprinter Van.
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Valid Driver's License appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
  • Safe driving record and ability to meet company and insurance driving requirements.
  • Knowledge of New York City, Long Island, Northern New Jersey, and Tri-State Area roadways is preferred.
  • Previous commercial driving, construction delivery, or material handling experience is preferred.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, secure, and handle construction materials and equipment.
  • Strong attention to safety, punctuality, organization, and customer service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project teams, vendors, and jobsite personnel.
  • Ability to work independently, follow delivery instructions, and adapt to changing project schedules.
Hours:
