Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Medical Specimen Driver, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and safe transportation of medical specimens. This energetic position requires a proactive approach to route driving, specimen handling, and customer service. You will be responsible for picking up specimen from clinics and delivering specimens to Fedex hub / UPS hub /airline cargo (Pittsburgh Airport area) efficiently while adhering to all safety and traffic regulations. Your dedication will help support critical healthcare operations and contribute to community health initiatives. Responsibilities Safely operate your personal vehicles for specimen delivery routes. Load, unload, and secure medical specimens using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary. Follow prescribed routes diligently while adhering to traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations to ensure timely deliveries. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to maintain optimal safety standards. Manage documentation accurately using mobile devices for route tracking, delivery confirmation, and specimen tracking logs. Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clinic staff, laboratory personnel, and healthcare providers during deliveries. Practice safe lifting techniques during manual handling of specimens and related materials, including heavy lifting when required. Qualifications Previous warehouse experience or experience in delivery driving is highly preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or box truck operation is advantageous. Proven experience in delivery driver roles, especially involving route driving and manual handling tasks. Familiarity with warehouse operations, material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, and heavy lifting practices. Knowledge of traffic regulations, DOT compliance standards, and safe lifting practices in a workplace setting. Ability to operate mobile devices for route management and documentation purposes efficiently. Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude during interactions with clients and team members.
