Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and dependable Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will provide safe, reliable transportation services to clients requiring non-emergency medical travel. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure passengers arrive at their appointments comfortably and on time, adhering strictly to all traffic and safety regulations. You will operate passenger vans, shuttle vehicles, or personal vehicles while maintaining professionalism and compassion at all times. Responsibilities Safely operate passenger vehicles such as vans, shuttles, or personal cars to transport clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or other designated locations. Follow prescribed local routes and adhere to all state transportation regulations to ensure compliance and safety. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, providing support for those with mobility challenges or special needs. Maintain clear communication with clients regarding pick-up times, route changes, or delays using effective communication skills. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness before each shift. Use GPS navigation systems efficiently to follow designated routes and optimize travel times. Document transportation activities accurately in logs or electronic records, including mileage, client details, and any incidents or delays. Qualifications Proven experience as a delivery driver, bus driver, chauffeur, shuttle driver, or in similar passenger transportation roles. Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle operated; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle type. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes. Experience operating passenger vans, shuttle buses, or personal vehicles in compliance with local traffic laws and regulations. Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as assisting passengers with mobility aids or luggage safely. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients of diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of medical transportation requirements and client confidentiality standards is a plus. Capable of heavy lifting when necessary and maintaining a clean vehicle environment. Understanding of state transportation regulations related to passenger vehicles and paratransit services.
