Job Description

Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver — Wheelchair & Ambulatory A growing non-emergency medical transportation company serving the Harris County/Cypress area is seeking a dependable, professional driver for wheelchair and ambulatory passenger transportation. We are looking for someone interested in consistent driving opportunities as our transportation volume grows. Please read this entire posting before applying. Attention to detail is part of our screening process. What You'll Do Transport ambulatory and wheelchair passengers to medical appointments, treatments, facilities, hospital discharges, and other approved destinations Safely assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle Properly secure wheelchairs and passengers according to safety procedures Arrive early and be ready for scheduled pickups Communicate promptly regarding pickups, delays, appointment releases, and schedule changes Treat every passenger with patience, dignity, and professionalism Follow all transportation and safety procedures What We're Looking For Reliability is extremely important for this position. Medical transportation is not the same as rideshare or food delivery. Passengers depend on their scheduled transportation to get to medical appointments, procedures, treatments, and other important destinations. Once you accept an assignment, we expect you to honor that commitment. We're especially interested in someone who: Has consistent weekday availability Is punctual and takes commitments seriously Communicates promptly and professionally Is patient and comfortable assisting elderly and mobility-limited passengers Drives safely and responsibly Understands that accepting a trip means committing to completing that trip Is looking for ongoing transportation opportunities rather than occasional work whenever convenient Compensation Driver compensation is based on assigned trips and may include a daily activation amount plus per-leg compensation. Specific compensation details will be discussed with qualified applicants before assignments are accepted. This is currently an independent contractor opportunity. Trip volume may vary and hours are not guaranteed. Requirements Valid driver's license Good driving record Ability to pass required background and MVR screening Reliable transportation to report for assignments Working smartphone and reliable communication Ability to safely assist passengers Willingness to learn proper wheelchair securement and passenger-assistance procedures Ability to complete required credentialing and onboarding documentation Prior NEMT, patient transportation, caregiving, senior transportation, medical, or professional driving experience is preferred but not required.

Pay:
$60.00 - $200.00 per day Application Question(s): Do you currently have a valid Wheelchair Passenger Safety/Transport Certification? Are you willing to complete a criminal background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check as part of the onboarding process? Are you comfortable assisting elderly and mobility-limited passengers and transporting passengers who use wheelchairs? You accept a medical transportation assignment for Wednesday morning. Tuesday evening, a personal activity comes up that you would rather attend Wednesday morning. How would you handle the situation?
