LifeCare Transport serves people with disabilities and older adults across Jefferson County every day, getting them to dialysis, cancer treatment, physical therapy, and the doctor appointments they can't afford to miss. For many of our riders, we're the only way they get there. We're hiring a full-time driver at our Fort Atkinson location. What you'll do Drive a company-owned van on scheduled routes across Jefferson County and the surrounding area. Help riders to and from the door. Log each trip. This location runs both wheelchair and ambulatory transport . Some riders walk on their own with a cane or walker. Others use a wheelchair, and for those trips you'll operate the ramp and secure the chair with a four-point securement system. We train you on this — no prior experience needed — but you need to be physically able to do it. Most riders see the same driver every week, and it matters to them. Requirements Meet our insurance carrier's minimum driver age of 23 Valid Wisconsin driver's license, held at least 3 years Driving record meeting our insurer's standard: no OWI in the past 5 years, no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years, no at-fault accidents in the past 2 years Pass a background check and drug screen Available full-time, Monday through Friday, days Physically able to push and secure occupied wheelchairs (see below) Reliable commute to Fort Atkinson 53538 Physical demands — read this carefully Pushing and securing occupied wheelchairs up a ramp; combined passenger and chair weight is commonly 250-300 lbs Bending and kneeling to attach floor straps, multiple times per shift In and out of the vehicle 20+ times per day Walking passengers to doors, sometimes over snow or uneven ground Lifting and stowing walkers, rollators, and portable oxygen — up to about 25 lbs Clearing snow and ice from ramps and walkways in winter Helpful, not required Prior NEMT, paratransit, school bus, CNA, home care, or senior services experience. CPR/First Aid — we'll pay for it if you don't have it. What we offer Take-home vehicle after 90 days. A 20-mile round-trip commute runs most people $2,000-3,000 a year in gas and wear. After 90 days, that's zero — you start your route from your own driveway, in our van, on our fuel. Paid time off. IRA with 3% employer match — on full-time hours, that's roughly $1,000 a year we put in on top of your pay. Paid training , including wheelchair securement certification. Steady full-time hours, days only, no weekends, no on-call. Same routes, same riders — you'll know the people you drive. (Before 90 days, you'll start and end each shift at our Fort Atkinson location where the vans are kept.)
