Drivers for Away we go Transport (AWGT) work with a variety of clientele, most of whom are people with disabilities and/or health problems. The clients can often not drive themselves which is where we come into play. AWGT serves the South Eastern Wisconsin area and often will serve those in multiple counties a day. We are a nonprofit looking for those with a hardworking attitude and those who can be personable with clients and other employees. There is some physical labor involved with pushing and hooking up wheelchairs, and operating lifts in vans. There are ample opportunities for bonuses and raises. After a year of employment, paid time off is a benefit. We are looking for someone to work varying hours, primarily in the afternoons and evenings. When needed you will need to work the weekends. Qualifications Must have a valid driver's license Proficiency in operating vehicles Flexible Schedule Must be able to commute to Port Washington Summary As a Driver of Clients, you will be essential in providing safe and reliable transportation services to our clients. This role requires a valid driver's license and core driving skills, along with premium expertise in commercial driving. You will utilize your relevant skills in shuttle driving, delivery experience, and mechanical knowledge to ensure efficient operations. Your ability to operate various vehicles, including commercial and manual transmission vehicles, will enhance our service delivery. Responsibilities Safely operate various commercial vehicles, ensuring timely transport of clients and goods. Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and functionality. Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to traffic regulations. Provide excellent customer service by assisting clients with their needs during transit. Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery schedules. Perform minor mechanical checks and report any vehicle issues promptly.
