- We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Mover / Driver to join our team.
The primary responsibility of this position is driving company moving vehicles safely and professionally to and from customer locations. The successful candidate will also perform hands-on moving duties, including loading, transporting, unloading, and protecting customers' belongings. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in safe driving, provides excellent customer service, works well as part of a team, and is comfortable performing physically demanding work. Primary Responsibilities Driving & Transportation — Primary Function Safely operate company moving trucks and other assigned vehicles. Transport customers' household goods, furniture, and other belongings safely and efficiently. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns. Follow all applicable DOT, traffic, and company safety regulations. Maintain a clean and professional driving record. Ensure proper loading and securement of cargo before and during transportation. Navigate efficiently to customer locations, storage facilities, and other destinations. Operate vehicles responsibly in a variety of weather, traffic, and road conditions. Maintain required driver documentation and comply with company and DOT requirements. Represent the company professionally while operating company vehicles and interacting with customers. Moving Responsibilities- Secondary Function Assist with loading and unloading furniture, boxes, appliances, and other household goods. Safely lift, carry, move, and position items during residential and commercial moves. Properly wrap, pad, protect, and secure furniture and other belongings. Use moving equipment such as dollies, ramps, straps, pads, and hand trucks safely. Assist with disassembly and reassembly of furniture when required. Protect customers' homes, businesses, floors, walls, doorways, and property during the moving process. Work efficiently with other movers and drivers to complete jobs safely and on schedule. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Required Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT medical card). Safe and responsible driving history. Ability to safely operate a moving truck or other company vehicles. Ability to pass any required company driving or safety screening. Ability to safely lift and carry heavy items and perform physically demanding work for extended periods. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Willingness to follow company safety procedures and DOT requirements. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience driving moving trucks, delivery vehicles, box trucks, or other commercial vehicles. Previous professional moving or delivery experience. Experience with residential or commercial moving. Familiarity with vehicle inspections, cargo securement, and safe driving practices. Knowledge of local roads and service areas. Physical Requirements This position requires frequent physical activity, including: Lifting and carrying heavy furniture, boxes, and other items. Repeated bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and climbing stairs. Standing and walking for extended periods. Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
