Job Overview Barringer Moving & Storage, LLC is a family-owned moving company based in Newton, NC, serving residential and commercial customers throughout the region and beyond. We are looking for dependable, hard-working individuals to join our team as Professional Movers / Drivers . Previous moving experience is valuable, but it is not required for the right candidate. We are willing to train people who have a strong work ethic, are dependable, work well with others, and want to learn the skills of professional moving. This is an active, hands-on position. Our movers are trusted inside customers' homes and businesses and are responsible for safely handling their belongings throughout the moving process. The right candidate understands that being a professional mover requires more than strength. It requires technique, efficiency, teamwork, problem-solving, attention to detail, and excellent customer service.

Pay:

$15-$20 per hour based on experience and demonstrated skill. Employees who qualify and are approved to drive company moving trucks earn an additional $1 per hour based on their mover pay rate. What You'll Do Safely pack, protect, carry, load, transport and unload customers' furniture, boxes and household or commercial belongings. Learn and use proper techniques for wrapping furniture, protecting homes, loading moving trucks and securing cargo. Work efficiently as part of a moving crew while following the direction of crew leaders and management. Treat customers, their homes and their belongings with professionalism and respect. Safely move furniture and other items through stairs, doorways and other challenging environments while helping prevent property damage. Maintain moving equipment, supplies and company vehicles in clean, organized condition. Assist with pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report equipment or vehicle concerns when assigned driving responsibilities. Follow company safety procedures and applicable transportation requirements. Communicate professionally with customers, coworkers and management. Be prepared for changing job locations and workdays that can vary in length depending on the move. What We're Looking For Dependability and punctuality. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow established moving and safety procedures. Professional attitude and good customer-service skills. Ability to safely perform the lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending and other physical tasks required in professional moving, with or without reasonable accommodation. Willingness to learn proper moving techniques and participate in company training. Previous moving, delivery, warehouse, construction, landscaping or other physically demanding work experience is a plus, but not required . A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required for employees seeking driver qualification . A CDL is not required for our standard moving trucks .
