In this role, you'll be both the expert and the coach of bodyflight - introducing guests to the thrill of indoor skydiving through hands-on, safety-focused instruction while helping to create an unforgettable experience from the moment they walk through the door. If you thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment and love the idea of a workplace where the "office" is a vertical wind tunnel, we want to hear from you! Daily Responsibilities No two days are alike, but here's a glimpse into your day-to-day: Champion a culture of safety, consistently following protocols to protect guests and teammates alike. Conduct routine checks of the wind tunnel's mechanical systems to confirm everything is running safely and properly. Build instant rapport with new students, earning their confidence right from the start. Lead small-group lessons, breaking down the fundamentals flyers need to feel confident and safe in the tunnel. Fit each guest with the appropriate safety gear and confirm it's worn correctly before they fly. Elevate the guest experience by recommending upgrades such as High Flights, premium helmets, or extra flight time. Guide your class through the tunnel one at a time, rotating between flying alongside, coaching, and spotting each student. Showcase your own flying ability with a short skills demonstration to energize students and onlookers. Wrap up each session with a debrief, using your sales instincts to suggest return-visit packages. Serve as wind speed operator for fellow instructors' sessions, keeping safety front and center for their guests. Support the front desk team by checking guests in, verifying reservations, and handling incoming calls. Pitch in on cleaning and general facility upkeep as needed. Take part in safety briefings and skill-building workshops. Continue developing your flying and coaching abilities through ongoing training, so you can support guests at every skill level. Take on other tasks as business needs evolve - every team member helps prioritize based on what iFly needs most, guided by leadership. Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older Available to work weekends and most holidays Willing to work in a hybrid Instructor/Customer Service capacity, based on the current needs of the business High school diploma or equivalent (required) Exceptional customer service and sales skills Friendly, upbeat attitude Punctual and professional in appearance and conduct Strong team player who builds positive working relationships Basic computer skills Physical Requirements Physically able to complete our paid Flight Instructor Training Program, where you will receive basic instruction on bodyflight and comprehensive information on how to safely handle guests Physically hold and support in the wind tunnel persons who weigh up to 260 pounds Maintain and support a flyer's weight by physically gripping flyer's torso and/or legs to move flyer in a three-dimensional space and rotate about the central axis. Endurance to physically withstand wind speeds up to 160 mph for extended periods of time. Ability to withstand impacts caused by flyers descending rapidly, flyers contacting walls, flyers contacting other flyers, and flyers impacting your torso and limbs. Ability to safely control a flyer's movement and position in the wind tunnel while also flying with the student. Perform all of the above for up to 12 people, 30 minutes at a time, up to five times a day, up to five days a week. Travel up and down stairs and ladders Benefits Hourly rate plus commission Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company match Paid time off (PTO) 1.5x hourly pay on holidays 50% employee discount on iFly merchandise Staff flight time for employees and immediate family members Join a team that helps people experience true flight - apply today and start your journey with iFly!
