Job Summary The Driver Assistant supports the Driver in picking up donations of furniture, appliances, home goods, and building materials from individual donors and corporate partners throughout Orange County. This role also assists with vehicle maintenance, product processing, and supporting the ReStore team. Duties Collaborate with ReStore management and staff to support product processing and the sales floor. Assist with picking up donations from individual and corporate donors. Maintain professionalism and excellent customer service with donors, volunteers, and co-workers. Navigate driving routes efficiently using GPS. Accurately complete the required paperwork in a timely manner according to company guidelines. Assist in supervising the maintenance, readiness, and safety of Habitat ReStore vehicles and equipment, including enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, updating maintenance logs. Skills and Knowledge Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to interact professionally with donors, staff, and volunteers. Basic knowledge of safe lifting techniques and ability to handle furniture, appliances, and building materials. Ability to read maps and use GPS or navigation apps to determine efficient driving routes. Attention to detail with paperwork and recordkeeping. Knowledge of basic vehicle care and maintenance practices preferred. Ability to follow safety procedures and contribute to a safe work environment. Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work collaboratively Available to work Monday through Friday and some evenings or weekends as needed High School diploma or equivalent required Must be 21 years of age or older to meet vehicle insurance requirements. Valid driver's license required Prior experience in customer service, warehouse, or delivery work preferred. Experience operating or assisting with vehicle maintenance is a plus. Familiarity with Habitat for Humanity's mission and values is helpful but not required.
