WHOLE WHOLE
is a wellness-centered organization supporting adults with developmental disabilities across residential and community programs. We're built on one idea: the people we support are whole human beings first — with their own preferences, dignity, and the right to make real choices about their lives. We don't run our programs by telling people what to do. We offer choices, we support independence, and we lead with relationship over authority. The role Every client is a puzzle worth solving. As a Curiosity Coach, you'll work one-on-one with adults building toward their own goals — and no two days, and no two people, look the same. There's no script. Your job is to figure out what makes someone light up, what unlocks their next step, and how to help them get there — one real, gradual bit of progress at a time. This is a Tailored Day Service (TDS) — a state-funded program that supports adults with developmental disabilities in building independence and reaching personal goals through individualized, one-on-one help, rather than a group day program. That means your job isn't to do things for someone — it's to work alongside them, keeping them in the driver's seat of their own life. You'll do this work wherever it needs to happen: out in the community, in our office, or in a client's home. The heart of it never changes: you build a genuine relationship, and you use it to help someone move forward. What makes someone great at this You're curious. You want to understand what's really going on with a person — what drives them, what's getting in the way, what they actually care about. You ask good questions and you keep asking. You think on your feet. Plans meet reality, and reality wins. You can read a moment, adjust the day when a client needs something different, and still keep them moving toward the bigger goal. When the obvious approach doesn't work, you find another one. You build real rapport. Not surface friendliness — genuine trust, the kind that makes hard things possible. You know that relationship is the mechanism through which all the actual progress happens. You bring energy. You show up engaged and you engage — not keeping someone busy, but genuinely drawing them out, sparking interest, making the day something they want to be part of. What you'll do Work 1:1 with clients to bring their individualized growth plan to life and move steadily toward their goals Provide multi-faceted, person-centered support — emotional, practical, and resource-based Find creative, individualized ways to explore each client's growth paths and interests Support community integration, exploration, and safety Read what a client needs in the moment and adjust the day accordingly — while keeping everything aligned to their plan Document your work clearly, transport clients when needed, and pivot when the day calls for it What we're looking for Previous experience in 1:1 development, direct support, mentoring, or community-based work Someone who leads with compassion and curiosity, not correction and control Flexible and genuinely comfortable with days that don't go to script Reliable and dependable — the people you support are counting on you to show up Willing and able to transport clients; reliable transportation, valid license, clean driving record Clear, consistent documentation habits Strong pluses (not required) RBT certification (preferred) Experience with group activities, job coaching, or behavior management Growth or service plan development experience Arts and crafts expertise of any kind — a real asset for creative, engaging sessions Schedule Part-time, 20-30 hours per week. The schedule can be very flexible — daytime hours are most likely, but you'll need flexibility for occasional swing shift, early morning, and weekend availability depending on client needs. Why WHOLE This is relationship-driven work for curious, energetic people who believe growth happens through connection, not control. If you're the kind of person who's genuinely energized by figuring out what helps someone build the life they want — and patient enough to do it one real step at a time — we'd love to meet you. WHOLE is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
