Job Summary Join our dynamic transportation team as a Non-Medical Transportation Driver, where your energetic and responsible approach will ensure safe, reliable, and courteous transportation services for clients of all ages. In this vital role, you will operate various vehicles—including vans and transit buses—delivering passengers to their destinations efficiently while prioritizing safety, comfort, and excellent customer service. Your proactive attitude and adherence to traffic laws will help us maintain the highest standards of transportation safety regulations and passenger care. Duties Safely operate vehicles such as vans, transit buses, or school buses in accordance with all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations. Assist passengers with wheelchair assistance, loading and unloading mobility devices, ensuring their comfort and security during transit. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting passengers warmly, communicating clearly, and addressing their needs promptly. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid protocols when necessary. Maintain accurate logs of trips, passenger counts, vehicle inspections, and incident reports to ensure compliance with all safety standards. Respond quickly to traffic changes or route adjustments, ensuring timely arrivals and departures while maintaining a calm demeanor. Adhere to child care or senior care policies when transporting vulnerable populations, demonstrating patience and respectful behavior management. Experience Proven experience driving commercial vehicles such as school buses, transit buses, or paratransit vans. Knowledge of vehicle codes, traffic laws, and state/local commercial driving laws applicable to passenger transportation. Prior experience working with children or seniors is highly desirable; familiarity with behavior management techniques is a plus. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle type. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; training provided if necessary. Strong communication skills in English; ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and tact.
