Job Description

Fleet Deckhand/Engineer Location:

Job Summary:
The Deckhand/Engineer performs deckhand duties while assisting with the maintenance and repair of vessel machinery and equipment. This hands-on position requires prior deckhand experience and a proven mechanical background. Previous experience as a Deckaneer is preferred. This is a live-on position working a 14-days-on, 7-days-off schedule with 12-hour shifts while aboard the vessel. Those who reside locally may return home after each shift rather than staying aboard. Referral Bonuses. What you'll do: Perform general deckhand duties, including handling lines, securing vessels and barges, and assisting with vessel and barge movements. Assist with the operation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of engines, generators, pumps, and other vessel equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance, including checking fluid levels, changing filters, lubricating equipment, and cleaning machinery. Monitor vessel machinery and equipment for mechanical issues and report or assist with needed repairs. Assist with fueling, loading supplies, and other daily vessel operations. Maintain clean, safe, and orderly deck, engine-room, and living areas. Participate in safety drills and follow all company safety procedures. Wear required personal protective equipment. Perform other deckhand, mechanical, and general maintenance duties as assigned. What you'll need: Previous deckhand experience and a proven mechanical maintenance or repair background are required; prior Deckaneer or combined deckhand/engineer experience is preferred. Working knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hydraulics, generators, or other vessel machinery is preferred. Possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or be able to obtain one. Ability to work a 14-days-on, 7-days-off schedule with 12-hour shifts.. Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions. $200.00 - $275.00 per day
