Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Deckhand/Mate and become an essential part of our maritime operations! In this energetic role, you will assist with vessel maintenance, safety procedures, and customer service onboard. Your enthusiasm and proactive attitude will help ensure smooth sailing, exceptional guest experiences, and a safe environment for everyone on board. Duties Assist with rigging operations, including setting up and maintaining sails, lines, and other equipment to ensure vessel stability and safety Support the captain and crew with mechanical tasks such as engine checks, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance Prepare and serve meals or snacks for guests and crew, maintaining high standards of hospitality and cleanliness Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort throughout the voyage Help with safety drills, emergency procedures, and safety equipment inspections to uphold safety protocols Perform general deck duties such as cleaning, organizing supplies, and assisting with docking procedures Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth daily operations and a positive onboard atmosphere Requirements Prior experience or training in rigging or maritime operations is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with engine maintenance and troubleshooting Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods Strong customer service skills combined with a friendly, approachable demeanor Hospitality experience or background in food preparation is a plus but not mandatory Valid certifications in safety or maritime operations are advantageous; willingness to obtain necessary certifications before start date A proactive attitude with excellent teamwork skills and a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences Embark on an exciting journey where your energy fuels our success!
