As an Industrial Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role within a skilled stevedoring team, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of cargo in a fast-paced maritime environment. This position offers hands-on experience with heavy industrial equipment and the opportunity to contribute directly to the smooth operation of cargo handling processes. Operate and maintain heavy industrial forklifts (8,000-50,000 lbs.), man lifts, and loaders with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency. Conduct pre-job inspections and perform routine maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure safety and optimal performance. Assist with deck and warehouse operations to support overall cargo handling activities. Perform quality inspections of various cargoes and accurately record production information according to company standards. Transload cargo to and from trucks, railcars, vessels, and barges, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols. Participate in company safety initiatives and follow all operational directives and company policies to maintain a safe work environment. High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment in a maritime or stevedoring environment (preferred). Experience in cargo transportation (preferred). Ability to safely operate assigned equipment and work effectively as part of a team. Proficiency in clerical tasks, record keeping, and equipment operation. Must possess a valid TWIC Card.
