Job Description

What will you be doing?

Working under the supervision of a Project Engineer within the Global Mooring team, the intern will support the development of a standardized vessel capability assessment tool. The primary objective will be to create an Excel-based application (with potential Visual Basic automation) that evaluates and compares installation vessel deck layouts and operational capabilities for a range of mooring project scopes using data from recent and ongoing projects. The project will involve assessing vessel suitability for activities including: Pile installation (vertical and horizontal deployment)

Mooring line pre-lay operations

Mooring line hook-up to host facilities

Mooring line tensioning using Chain Jacks, BarLatch systems, or In-Line Tensioners (ILT)

Host towing and station-keeping operations The intern will collaborate with engineers to gather, organize, and analyze vessel and project data, develop practical engineering tools, and gain exposure to offshore installation methodologies and project execution strategies. At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will present the completed tool, findings, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.



What experience would we like you to have? Minimum of enrollment in a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering program (Ocean or Marine are preferred) from an ABET accredited university or equivalent.

Applicants should be within 1 year of graduation upon start of internship.

Previous experience with Excel required

Previous experience with Visual Basic software would be recommended but not required.

Previous experience with the oilfield / offshore industries project/tender is preferred but not required.

Aptitude and attitude to learn and experience seabed-to-surface engineering requirements, including installation techniques, software tools, and other technical issues. Ability to obtain, interpret and apply relevant information for formulating sound engineering solutions under the supervision of senior staff. Ability to identify and use appropriate methods, tools and best industry practices to perform engineering under supervision of senior staff. Ability to produce deliverables in a timely manner that are clear and accurate. Ability to develop working relationships through effective communication. Ability to apply logical analysis to break down problems and to develop solutions by creative thinking. Ability to pursue goals, plan, prioritize and organize work.
