" JOB ShedMax is hiring a dependable, mechanically minded Delivery Driver / Building Setup Specialist to deliver, place, level, and set up portable buildings for our customers. If what you want is a job where you spend most of the day sitting in the cab, this is probably not the job for you. A large part of this job happens after you arrive at the customer's property.

You will:

Unload portable buildings Operate specialized shed-moving equipment Learn and operate a ShedMule / shed mover Maneuver buildings through yards and tight spaces Position buildings accurately Block and level buildings Make setup adjustments Inspect the building and job site Protect the customer's property Solve field problems Clean up and leave the site looking professional The truck gets you to the job. The real work starts when you get there.

WHAT THIS JOB IS REALLY LIKE

This is outdoor, physical field work.

Some days will be:

Cold Rainy Muddy Hot Dusty Windy Wet Uneven Tight Challenging You may be crawling around a building, setting blocks, checking level, moving equipment, repositioning the shed, protecting landscaping, and working around fences, driveways, slopes, trees, septic areas, and tight access. There are easy deliveries. There are also deliveries where you have to stop, think, figure it out, and make it happen without damaging the building or the customer's property. If you don't like getting out of the truck, getting dirty, or working outside in bad weather, do not apply.

THERE IS NOT ALWAYS A SET QUITTING TIME

This is delivery and field work. A delivery may take longer than expected. Access may be difficult. Traffic may slow the route. A building may need additional leveling. The customer may have a more difficult site than expected. Equipment may need to be repositioned. Some days may finish earlier. Other days may run later. We need someone who understands that the day is finished when the route and customer responsibilities are properly completed—not simply because the clock reached a certain time. If you need to leave at exactly the same time every day, this may not be a good fit.

YOU MUST LEARN QUICKLY

You do not need to already know everything about moving and setting portable buildings.

We can teach you:

Shed-moving procedures ShedMule operation Building placement Blocking Leveling Site approach Trailer procedures Delivery inspections Setup standards Customer procedures Tips and tricks that make difficult deliveries easier But we need someone who learns quickly and retains what they are taught. We do not want to teach the same thing every day for three months. We need someone who can watch, listen, understand why something is done a certain way, and then begin applying it independently.

BUT IT'S ONLY PART OF THE JOB

You will drive company one-ton trucks pulling approximately 30-foot gooseneck trailers. You need to be able to: Tow confidently Back a gooseneck trailer Judge turns and clearance Maneuver safely in tight areas Secure loads correctly Inspect the truck and trailer Pay attention to the building while transporting it Protect company equipment Drive professionally around the public Gooseneck towing experience is required. A CDL is not required. But being a good driver alone does not make somebody a good ShedMax delivery person. 80%

OF THE VALUE IS WHAT YOU DO AT THE CUSTOMER'S PROPERTY A

ShedMax delivery is not: Back in → drop building → leave. The finished setup matters.

The building should be:

Positioned correctly Properly supported Properly leveled Stable Straight Accessible Located where the customer agreed Free from avoidable delivery damage The customer's property should also be treated with respect.

You need to look at:

Ground conditions Slope Drainage Fences Trees Landscaping Driveways Septic areas Overhead obstacles Soft ground Tight corners Clearance Equipment access A strong delivery person is constantly thinking: "If I do this, what happens next?"

WE WANT SOMEONE WHO THINKS AHEAD

We are looking for somebody who notices problems before they become problems.

Before driving into a yard:

Is the ground too soft? Is there enough room to get back out? Is that limb going to hit the building? Is the trailer going to drag? Is the ShedMule going to have enough traction? Is there a septic system in the way? Can the building make the turn? Is the pad ready? Is there enough clearance?

During setup:

Is the building sitting correctly? Is it supported properly? Is it level? Is it rocking? Are the blocks positioned correctly? Does the whole building look right? We need someone who thinks three steps ahead instead of waiting until something goes wrong.

QUALITY MATTERS

We do not want a driver who rushes through deliveries just to get back to the shop. Speed matters. Efficiency matters. But the customer just spent real money on their building. They deserve a professional delivery.

That means:

Don't damage the building Don't damage the customer's property Don't leave it obviously out of level Don't leave blocks crooked Don't leave trash Don't leave tools behind Don't ignore something because "the customer didn't notice" Don't rush through the final inspection The job is not done until the building and setup look right.

YOU ARE THE FACE OF SHEDMAX

In many cases, you may be the only ShedMax employee the customer ever meets face-to-face. That matters.

Be respectful Be professional Explain what you're doing when necessary Stay calm when a customer has questions Avoid arguing Protect the customer's property Communicate problems clearly Represent ShedMax professionally Leave the customer feeling good about their purchase You may have had a long day. The customer doesn't know that. Their delivery is still important.

TAKE CARE OF THE EQUIPMENT

You may be responsible for: Company truck Gooseneck trailer Shed-moving equipment ShedMule Jacks Blocks Levels Straps Chains Tools Delivery equipment We want somebody who keeps track of equipment and notices problems. If something is damaged, report it. If something is missing, find it. If the truck needs attention, say something. If a strap is worn out, replace or report it. Treat company equipment like you personally paid for it. A careless person with a truck, trailer, building, and equipment can cost the company a lot of money very quickly.

EXPERIENCE THAT TRANSFERS WELL

Good candidates may come from: Equipment operation Farming Construction Excavation Landscaping Towing Trailer delivery Mobile-home setup Shed delivery Heavy equipment Forklift operation Mechanics Truck and trailer work Agricultural work Building delivery General contracting Skilled handyman work Portable-building delivery experience is a plus, but it is not required. A sharp equipment operator or mechanically minded person who can tow, learn quickly, think ahead, and work hard can become an excellent ShedMax delivery specialist.

ATTENDANCE IS A REQUIREMENT

Our customers are scheduled. The building may already be loaded. The route may already be planned. Another employee may be depending on you. A customer may have taken off work specifically for their delivery. When a driver doesn't show up, the entire day's schedule can fall apart. We understand legitimate emergencies happen.

But if you regularly:

REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 21 years old Valid driver's license Clean and acceptable driving record Gooseneck trailer towing experience required Confident backing and maneuvering trailers Able to safely operate trucks and equipment Willing to learn ShedMule operation Able to learn quickly Able to perform physical work outdoors Able to lift and handle setup materials Comfortable working in heat, cold, rain, mud, and changing weather Good mechanical and problem-solving ability Good judgment Strong attention to safety and quality Professional communication with customers Dependable attendance Willing to work variable quitting times based on route completion
