The Driver is responsible for route readiness, accurate loading and delivery, vehicle care, communication, and secure return of all assigned items. Seasonality and Work Availability Real Photos follows the school calendar. Peak event periods generally run from October through December and February through March. This seasonal, event-based role may have limited or no work during summer, holidays, school breaks, closures, cancellations, or other periods without scheduled events. Assignments and hours are not guaranteed. Employees are paid for all hours worked; if no work is assigned or scheduled and none is performed, no wages are earned, subject to the written offer and applicable law. Essential Responsibilities Report at the assigned early-morning time, inspect the vehicle, review the route, and verify that all equipment, packages, supplies, keys, documents, and contact information are present. Complete a documented pre-trip inspection including tires, lights, mirrors, fuel, fluids, visible damage, cleanliness, and safety equipment. Load and secure equipment and packages to prevent movement, damage, loss, or unauthorized access during transit. Drive company vehicles safely and legally throughout the five boroughs and Northern New Jersey, accounting for traffic, parking, school access, and loading restrictions. Deliver and retrieve equipment, packages, props, and supplies; obtain confirmations and report discrepancies immediately. Assist photography crews with loading, unloading, setup, breakdown, or emergency replacement equipment when directed. Maintain real-time communication regarding departures, arrivals, delays, route changes, parking issues, damaged items, vehicle concerns, and completed deliveries. Keep the assigned vehicle clean and organized and report maintenance needs; do not perform mechanical work beyond authorized minor tasks. Return the vehicle, keys, equipment, delivery records, fuel receipts, and other assigned items to the correct location before clocking out. Complete driver safety, equipment handling, data privacy, and incident-reporting training. Required Qualifications Valid driver license and an acceptable driving record for the company vehicle and insurer requirements. Strong route planning, punctuality, communication, and attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently and assist with team lifts up to 50 pounds. Ability to work calmly in traffic and under time-sensitive delivery conditions. Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year of experience driving cargo vans or similar vehicles in New York City. Bilingual English/Spanish communication. Key Performance and Responsibilities On-time vehicle departure, delivery, and retrieval. Zero preventable accidents, tickets, or avoidable equipment damage. Complete loading and delivery accuracy. Vehicle inspection and maintenance reporting compliance. Professional communication with schools and crews. Fuel, parking, toll, and receipt documentation accuracy. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This role may involve early-morning reporting, travel, school entry procedures, standing and moving for extended periods, repeated bending or kneeling, handling equipment cases, working around children and school staff, and adapting to changes in school schedules.
