Job Summary The Furniture and Appliance Delivery Associate is responsible for safely transporting, loading, unloading, and delivering furniture and appliances to customers' homes or designated locations. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, excellent customer service skills, and efficient route management. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling heavy items while maintaining a focus on timely deliveries. Duties Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles used for delivery purposes. Load and unload furniture and appliances using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks. Ensure all items are secured properly during transit to prevent damage. Follow established routes efficiently while adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Assist customers with the placement and setup of furniture or appliances upon delivery. Maintain accurate delivery documentation using mobile devices or other electronic systems. Communicate professionally with customers regarding delivery times, procedures, and any potential delays. Perform routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Support warehouse operations by assisting with inventory management and material handling when not on delivery routes. Practice safe lifting techniques during load & unload activities to prevent injuries. Requirements Prior experience in warehouse operations, delivery driving, or courier services is preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating box trucks or commercial trucks is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely; familiarity with safe lifting practices. Experience with manual transmission vehicles is a plus. Knowledge of route driving, traffic regulations, and weight handling in the workplace. Familiarity with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Flexibility to work approximately 50 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as needed.
