Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a part-time CDL - A Dump Truck Driver, where you'll play a vital role in transporting materials efficiently and safely across various job sites. You will operate dump trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles, ensuring timely delivery of loads while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Safely operate CDL - A dump trucks following FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo and hazardous materials when necessary, in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Transport freight securely over long distances or within local areas, including automobile transportation when required. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking manual transmission systems and truck loading/unloading equipment. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate deliveries, report issues, or adjust routes as needed. Qualifications Valid CDL - A license with clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation roles. Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and dangerous goods handling. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and perform manual handling tasks related to load & unload operations. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools for route planning and execution on route driving assignments. Strong understanding of truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling practices. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety compliance during over-the-road (OTR) routes or local deliveries.
