Job Description
Apply 2nd Officer - Cruise Location Worldwide Job Type Permanent Maintain safe navigation and effective bridge watchkeeping in accordance with company procedures, STCW and the Master's Standing Orders. Monitor safety, security and environmental requirements, alarms and indicators, and conduct required safety rounds. Report significant events or concerns promptly to the Master, Staff Captain or 1st Officer, taking appropriate action when required. Maintain proper bridge discipline… Responsibilities Maintain safe navigation and effective bridge watchkeeping in accordance with company procedures, STCW and the Master's Standing Orders. Monitor safety, security and environmental requirements, alarms and indicators, and conduct required safety rounds. Report significant events or concerns promptly to the Master, Staff Captain or 1st Officer, taking appropriate action when required. Maintain proper bridge discipline and ensure watchkeeping personnel perform their duties effectively. In port, monitor gangway security, mooring operations, vessel traffic, weather conditions and other activities affecting vessel safety. Support safe tender operations and operate tenders when directed. Assist the Safety Officer with crew safety training, drills and emergency preparedness. Maintain required rest hours and report any concerns affecting compliance. Attend required meetings, training and other work-related activities. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Reports directly to the 1st Officer, or to the Safety Officer when the 1st Officer is unavailable. Requirements Unlimited Officer in Charge of a Navigation Watch (OICNW). STCW-compliant training and certification. Clear and effective spoken and written English. Ability to communicate professionally with guests, supervisors and crew. Additional languages such as Spanish, French or German are preferred.
