Role:
The Line Haul Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of auto parts over long distances, contributing directly to the efficiency and reliability of the supply chain. This position requires operating box trucks, primarily overnight, to deliver auto parts to hub locations while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. The driver must maintain the vehicle in optimal condition, perform routine inspections, and manage documentation related to deliveries and vehicle maintenance. Effective communication with management and team members is essential to coordinate schedules and address any issues that arise during transit. Ultimately, the Line Haul Driver ensures that goods reach their destinations intact and on schedule, supporting the overall success of the logistics operation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's license. Proven experience as a truck driver with a clean driving record. Knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations and safety standards. Ability to pass required medical and drug screening tests. Basic mechanical skills to perform routine vehicle inspections and minor maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS navigation systems. Strong time management skills and ability to plan routes efficiently. Customer service experience to effectively interact with clients during deliveries.
Responsibilities:
Operate box trucks to transport auto parts safely and efficiently across regional the south. Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods to prevent damage. Maintain accurate records of driving hours, vehicle inspections, deliveries, and any incidents encountered during transit. Communicate effectively with supervisors to provide updates on delivery status and resolve any logistical issues.
