Position Overview You keep maintenance work moving safely and reliably from the yard to each property and back. The role combines trailer driving, basic landscape maintenance, equipment care, dependable communication, and follow-through. This position exists to give GroundScapes a dependable person who works hard, communicates early, protects company equipment, and contributes to consistent service quality. You are expected to communicate before a small issue becomes a missed property, damaged trailer, unhappy customer, or avoidable return trip. You do not disappear, make excuses, or leave problems for someone else to discover. You tell the owner or Crew Lead what happened and help solve it.
Success Profile and Targets Reliability:
Arrive ready to work for at least 95% of scheduled shifts during the review period.
Communication:
Report delays, absences, equipment problems, property issues, and route concerns before they affect the day.
Production:
Complete assigned mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing work to the expected property standard.
Safety:
Drive and load the truck and trailer safely, with 100% completion of required pre-trip and post-trip checks.
Company commitment:
Follow through on assigned work, care for company property, and remain dependable during busy periods. What a great day looks like You arrive ready and complete the vehicle and trailer check before leaving. The truck and trailer leave the yard with the correct tools, fuel, and equipment. Assigned properties are completed carefully and efficiently. Problems are communicated before they become surprises. The truck, trailer, and tools return organized and ready for the next day.
Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:
Experience with at least one of the following: mowing, string trimming/weedeating, edging, or blowing.
Driving:
Valid driver's license and experience driving a truck with a landscape trailer.
Technical competencies:
Ability to safely operate basic landscape maintenance equipment and learn GroundScapes' preferred methods.
Reliability:
Willingness to work consistently, communicate honestly, and follow through on assigned work.
Physical requirements:
Ability to work outdoors in Fort Myers weather, stand and walk for extended periods, and handle landscape tools and equipment.
Leadership:
Crew leadership is not required. The ability to take direction and become more independent over time is expected.
Systems:
Ability to use a phone for calls, texts, photos, and basic work communication.
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
