Position Overview The Activities Driver safely transports residents to and from the community in the recreational van and assists participants as needed. This role ensures vehicle safety, maintains proper sanitation, and follows all established driving policies and state regulations. Requirements Must meet all of The Plaza's Driver Policy requirements, complete assigned driver improvement programs, and follow safe driving practices in compliance with Hawaii rules and regulations. Performs daily pre
  • and post-trip inspections, maintains the van in clean and operable condition, and reports any out-of-service conditions or accidents promptly.
Provides transportation for medical appointments, outings, and miscellaneous trips while operating equipment like wheelchair lifts and four-point restraints properly. Completes necessary vehicle reports, tracks registrations and safety checks, and works collaboratively with other departments while adhering to disaster and fire plans. Qualifications Requires a clean driving record that complies with the company's insurance company requirements and state regulations. Must have the ability to properly operate specialized van equipment, including wheelchair lifts, seatbelts, and four-point restraints. Must be familiar with vehicle maintenance standards, safety check procedures, and basic administrative reporting. Requires strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with supervisors, the Activities Director, and other departments.
