Overview of the Role Jims Towing Service LLC is seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented Tow Truck Driver/Operator to join our team. In this role, you will respond to service calls, operate towing and recovery equipment, and assist customers in a professional and timely manner. The ideal candidate is experienced behind the wheel, mechanically inclined, and able to remain calm under pressure while delivering excellent roadside support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in helping others, and wants to be part of a fast-moving service operation where no two days are the same. Key Responsibilities Safely operate tow trucks, flatbeds, and other recovery vehicles to transport disabled, damaged, or improperly parked vehicles Respond promptly to dispatch calls and arrive on site in a timely and professional manner Assess vehicle condition and surroundings to determine the safest and most effective towing or recovery method Load, secure, transport, and unload vehicles using proper equipment and safety procedures Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or equipment issues Provide basic roadside assistance services, such as jump-starts, tire changes, lockout assistance, and fuel delivery, as needed Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and law enforcement or property owners when required Complete service documentation accurately, including vehicle condition reports, job details, and customer information Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready truck and work environment Deliver outstanding customer service during stressful or time-sensitive situations Follow all company policies, safety regulations, traffic laws, and towing industry best practices Preferred Qualifications/Skills (willing to train) Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL and/or towing endorsement if required by state or local regulations Previous experience operating a tow truck, flatbed, rollback, or similar commercial vehicle Strong understanding of towing equipment, vehicle securement practices, and roadside safety procedures Mechanical aptitude and basic automotive knowledge Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and road conditions Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver heavy equipment and materials safely Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions quickly in the field Excellent communication and customer service skills Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision Flexibility to work full-time or part-time schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts as needed Experience with vehicle recovery, winching, and accident scene support Familiarity with roadside assistance tools and procedures Forklift experience or experience moving vehicles with specialty equipment Basic vehicle repair or maintenance experience Conflict de-escalation skills and the ability to manage difficult customer interactions professionally Knowledge of local roads, traffic patterns, and navigation systems Bilingual communication skills are a plus Culture and Benefits at Jims Towing Service LLC At Jims Towing Service LLC, we value hard work, reliability, teamwork, and respect.
