Job Description

Waldbart Nursery in Dorsey IL is a family owned business that specializes in the growing of shade, flowering, and evergreen trees along with flowering and evergreen shrubs. We also operate a retail/wholesale garden center that includes a tree planting and delivery service that we offer to our customers. We are currently looking for crew leaders to run our tree planting crews.

Job responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Managing a crew on a day to day basis doing tree and shrub plantings or landscaping jobs.
Driving a truck and trailer in a safe and responsible manner.
Keeping equipment and tools maintained and in working condition.
Working with customers frequently in a friendly and educated manner.
Operating heavy equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Maintaining company quality standards of tree and shrub plantings.
Providing training to crew members.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and be able to handle plant material in a responsible manner.
Ability to work with the general public.
Ability to work with coworkers in a nice and responsible manner.
Has a class C drivers license or has the ability to get a class C drivers license.
Has experience and knowledge of equipment such as Bobcats or tractors.
Has extensive knowledge of trees and shrubs.
Has experience and knowledge of job site safety.
Has good communication and problem solving skills.
Organization and planning skills to keep a job site running smoothly.
Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.
Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons Qualifications
Experience planting trees and shrubs
Experience with trucks and trailers
Experience with Skid Steers and their attachments
