Waldbart Nursery in Dorsey IL is a family owned business that specializes in the growing of shade, flowering, and evergreen trees along with flowering and evergreen shrubs. We also operate a retail/wholesale garden center that includes a tree planting and delivery service that we offer to our customers. We are currently looking for crew leaders to run our tree planting crews.

Job responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Managing a crew on a day to day basis doing tree and shrub plantings or landscaping jobs.
• Driving a truck and trailer in a safe and responsible manner.
• Keeping equipment and tools maintained and in working condition.
• Working with customers frequently in a friendly and educated manner.
• Operating heavy equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Maintaining company quality standards of tree and shrub plantings.
• Providing training to crew members.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and be able to handle plant material in a responsible manner.
• Ability to work with the general public.
• Ability to work with coworkers in a nice and responsible manner.
• Has a class C drivers license or has the ability to get a class C drivers license.
• Has experience and knowledge of equipment such as Bobcats or tractors.
• Has extensive knowledge of trees and shrubs.
• Has experience and knowledge of job site safety.
• Has good communication and problem solving skills.
• Organization and planning skills to keep a job site running smoothly.
• Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons Qualifications
• Experience planting trees and shrubs
• Experience with trucks and trailers
• Experience with Skid Steers and their attachments
