Job Description
Job Summary We are a family-owned business seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our company who has a minimum of 2 years' experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely, efficiently and on time across designated routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to traffic regulations, and the ability to handle trucks, including tractor-trailers and refrigerated trailers. Contact Fred at 773-517-3208. Duties Operate and drive tractor-trailer units. No containers. Dry van and reefer only. Truck will be an automatic. Plan routes effectively to ensure timely delivery of freight while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Pre-trip and post trip required for safety. Maintain accurate records of deliveries. Communicate effectively with dispatcher and management regarding changes, delays or emergencies. Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle assigned. Experience Proven experience in commercial driving is required. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and medical card are required. Must have tanker endorsement. No HAZMAT required. Familiarity with freight handling procedures and safety regulations is essential. NO driver load/unload. Strong knowledge of vehicle operation and maintenance practices. Ability to work independently while being part of a family-owned company environment. Miscellaneous Information We have 22 years of business experience. Driver is home every day or every other day. 85% of the work is nights. Subject to change daily. You may be required to work every other weekend. $1300 is for M-F. Sat and Sunday increase your weekly check. This is a 1099 position not a W-2. No cash payments. Direct deposit on Friday. A work week is Monday to Sunday. A pay period is Monday-Sunday. We operate within a 300-mile radius of Chicago. Equipment is not brand new but very reliable. Drug Test passing required. Felonies will not prohibit hiring.
