Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Powered Industrial Truck instructor for a (2) two-day onsite Train-the-Trainer engagement at a client facility in Mulvane, Kansas. You will qualify up to six of the client's in-house staff to train equipment operators and conduct competency evaluations across three equipment families: counterbalance forklifts, aerial lifts (boom and scissor MEWPs), and telehandlers / telescopic (variable-reach) forklifts. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on equipment operation and instructor teach-backs. This is a contract engagement, not a permanent position.

Audience:
Up to 6 in-house trainer candidates Engagement type: Independent contract, project based What You Will Do Onsite Teach adult learning and instructional technique, operator evaluation methods, and training program documentation Instruct on equipment-specific operation and inspection, load handling and stability, and hazard recognition across all three equipment families Run hands-on operation exercises and instructor teach-backs for each candidate Assess each candidate and document their qualification Deliverables A trainer qualification record for each candidate A YellowBird Certificate of Completion for each candidate Course materials, instructor resources, and evaluation documentation (YellowBird can assist with these if requested) What the Client Provides A forklift, an aerial lift, and a telehandler, each in safe operating condition for hands-on instruction and evaluation An indoor or outdoor area for classroom and practical exercises Up to 6 trainer candidates present for both full days Qualifications Demonstrated experience delivering Powered Industrial Truck operator and train-the-trainer instruction Working knowledge of
OSHA 29 CFR
1910.178, 1910.67, and 1926.453 Working knowledge of
ANSI/ITSDF
B56.6 and the
ANSI A92
family of standards Ability to instruct across counterbalance forklifts, boom and scissor MEWPs, and telehandlers / telescopic forklifts Comfortable leading classroom instruction and hands-on evaluation for a group of up to 6 adult learners Able to travel to and work onsite in Mulvane, Kansas on both scheduled dates Able to supply your own PPE and meet standard site access requirements Professional written documentation skills for qualification records and evaluation forms Standards Referenced
