Westmanland, Maine, United States Job Description Wages:
The Plow Driver position is a part time position. The position is guaranteed 20 hours per week, position to include plowing snow and sanding in the winter. Pay is to be $25.00 per hour. Overtime will be paid for over 40 hours per week. The employee must present a completed timecard weekly to the Town Clerk during office hours (Mondays, 8:00 am to 11:00 am); timecard to be completed based on time of beginning of work and end of work. The employee will be paid on the Friday following the receipt of time card. A check will be available during office hours (3:00 pm to 6:00 pm). No benefits, other than hourly pay, will be provided to the employee.
Responsibilities:
Plowing/Snow Removal Maintain plow truck and other equipment properly for operational purposes. Report any major repairs needed to the Road Commissioner or the Selectmen for authorization. Complete authorized work showing parts and time involved. Plowing of roads to be completed after the accumulation of 1" or more of snow fall. When several inches or more of snow is predicted driver is required to make several passes throughout the day/night. Blowing snow will also require day/night maintenance. Maintain roads so they are passable prior to the morning commute, i.e. 5:30 am. Complete spring plowing without the use of the wing to prevent further damage to the roads. Adhere to the guidelines set out in the Maine Department of Environmental Protection's Chapter 574 - SITING
AND OPERATION OF ROAD SALT AND SAND-SALT STORAGE AREAS

Clean salt/sand pad of snow and ice before removing any salt/sand from pile Cover salt/sand pile immediately after removal of salt/sand and/or prior to completion of plowing Return any salt/sand spilled on the pad to the pile prior to truck leaving salt/sand site Keep Town Hall driveway and ramps clean Other duties as requested by Selectmen, i.e. removing excess snow
Other:
Ensure tarps on salt/sand pile remain in place, covering the pile during the off season. The plow truck and payloader are to remain at salt/sand site unless authorized by the Selectmen for road use. Parties other than plow driver riding in truck to assist with plowing or covering salt/sand pile require prior approval.
