Job Description
Home Every Night! No Sundays! Central Michigan Territory, less than 40 Mile Radius Monday-Friday with occasional rotating Saturdays Work hours between 5:00am - 4:00 pm
Purpose or General Objective:
To continually pick up and deliver donated goods or contract parts efficiently and courteously.
Essential Duties:
Continually load and unload trucks with correct types and amounts on contract materials as directed. Daily vehicle and trailer inspections report and problems discussed with the Transportation Supervisor. Continually and efficiently deliver and pick up parts for manufacturing contracts as directed. Continually and efficiently deliver and pick up donated goods from all Goodwill stores and Attended Donation Sites (ADS). Continually ensure shippers are signed and loads match paperwork. Complete and turn in appropriate paperwork on a daily basis. Other duties as assigned
Results Expected:
Ability to keep trucks and equipment clean and well maintained Ability to complete a check list to conduct daily pre-trip operation maintenance checks Exercise excellent safety precautions at all times including the use of wheel chocks Ability to attend organizational meetings as required Ability to maintain positive relations with co-workers and supervisors to ensure deliveries and pickups are conducted as scheduled and in a timely manner. Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism while conducting home pickups, donation pickups/ deliveries and contract deliveries.
Physical Requirements:
Have the ability to bend, reach and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Have the ability to carry, push, pull, otherwise move carts of donations as needed. May involve use of a pallet jack. Ability to obtain valid forklift license. Must have the ability to pass a physical, alcohol and drug screen to comply with DOT regulations
Education Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred Must have knowledge of trucks and truck maintenance CDL Type A License - Mandatory We are searching for someone dependable to join our team. As a truck driver, you will pick up and deliver donated goods that we sell in our retail stores to help people in that community and others in Central Michigan get work experience, job training, and other services. We collect everything from furniture to clothing so you will be handling a wide variety of items every day, big and small, and need to be able to move the donations and sort them throughout a work day.
