Responsibilities Safely operate a tractor-trailer/truck to transport goods and materials to and from specified destinations. Implement and adhere to the dispatch schedule as closely as possible, ensuring timely delivery. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventive maintenance where necessary. Document and log work/rest periods, miles spent driving, and retain fuel/toll receipts. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Report defects, accidents, or violations immediately and provide complete and accurate information as required. Handle paperwork concerning routes and deliveries, ensuring all are properly filled out and submitted. Engage with dispatch and support personnel in an efficient and respectful manner to solve any logistic issues. Required Skills Proven work experience as a truck driver with a clean driving record. Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly with extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc). Strong planning and time management skills are essential.
