Job Description

Overview Join our team as a Garbage Truck Driver and become a vital part of our solid waste management operations! In this role, you will operate various types of commercial trucks, including rear loaders and roll-off trucks, to efficiently collect and transport waste materials. Your expertise in safe driving practices, mechanical knowledge, and customer service will ensure smooth daily operations while maintaining compliance with all safety and transportation regulations. Duties Safely operate different types of garbage trucks such as rear loaders and roll-off trucks according to route schedules. Load, unload, and transport waste materials while adhering to material regulations and safety protocols. Follow traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and state transportation regulations during route driving. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical functionality; perform minor mechanical repairs if needed. Collect waste from residential, commercial, or municipal sites while providing excellent customer service. Maintain accurate logs of routes driven, loads collected, and any incidents or mechanical issues encountered throughout shifts. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and operate front-end loaders or other equipment when necessary to facilitate efficient waste collection. Requirements Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with air brake certification or chauffeurs license; experience with manual transmission preferred. Proven experience operating rear loader trucks or roll-off trucks in a municipal or commercial setting. Solid understanding of traffic laws, safety protocols and heavy lifting techniques. Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot common issues. Demonstrated ability to follow route instructions accurately while maintaining safe driving practices under all weather conditions. Outdoor work experience with the physical stamina to lift heavy loads regularly throughout shifts. Pay:
$16.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 55.0 per week
