Job Description

Summary:

Responsible for performing labor, custodial and janitorial duties in an office environment.

Education Requirements and Experience:

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) preferred.

Six months to one-year experience.

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

Possess interpersonal skills necessary to foster cooperation and effectively communicate with other employees.

Good oral and written communication skills and customer service skills.

Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory for all Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe positions.

Supervisory Duties:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Must practice safety precautions and be safety conscious at all times.

Should know proper mixing procedures; of cleaning materials (what not to mix/what can be mixed).

Performs grounds care, including but not limited to mowing, trimming, edging, watering, reseeding, sweeping walks and putting down salt or ice melt when needed.

Performs custodial tasks, including but not limited to sweeping, vacuuming, extracting, mopping and polishing floors, washing, painting, and interior walls, cleans windows and blinds, and cleans bathrooms, showers and fixtures.

Performs general labor tasks as assigned or as requested by other programs.

Performs shift work as needed and all other duties as assigned.

Responsible for restocking toilet paper, paper towels, soap dispensers and trash removal.

Responsible for keeping: work area neat and orderly, which includes break room, kitchen and management office.

Operates, maintains power and non-powered grounds care equipment.

Operates and maintains all floor equipment.

Driving custodial maintenance vehicle to various sites.

Transports trash and other debris to appropriate places and containers.

Participates in; off-shift and weekend emergency maintenance coverage as needed.

Performs shift work as needed and all other duties as assigned.

Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings as required.

Maintain confidentiality and professional ethics at all times.

Understanding and sensitivity to Native American culture.

Adhere to policies governing staff conduct.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.

Be physically capable of performing assigned tasks.

Subject to internal working conditions.

Non-smoking environment.
