Job Description

Full-Time Class A Truck Driver
  • Local Deliveries Southern Tier Logistics
  • Painted Post NY Schedule:
    6:00 PM
  • 6:00 AM (2 days on, 3 days off/3 days on, 2 days off)
Pay Range:
$24.00
  • $27.
50 per hour Starting Rate $27.00/hr

Position Summary The Driver at Southern Tier Logistics is responsible for freight pick-up and delivery, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring equipment upkeep. Drivers are accountable for the safe and efficient use of company equipment and are expected to maintain a professional attitude that supports teamwork and promotes a positive company image. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required Minimum of 1 year tractor-trailer driving experience Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions, including handling receipts, logs, maps, and road signs Knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems Clean and respectable driving record Must meet or exceed

medical requirements Understanding of public safety and security procedures, including applicable policies and regulations Familiarity with DOT regulations including Hours of Service (HOS), inspections, and maintenance requirements Essential Duties & Responsibilities Ensure deliveries and pick-ups are completed efficiently and cost-effectively Transport and collect freight from designated locations Properly hook and unhook trailers (including operating the landing gear) Inspect equipment before, during, and after trips; complete thorough pre
  • and post-trip inspections Plan and maintain efficient delivery routes Keep equipment clean and in good working condition Represent the company professionally at all times Accurately complete and submit daily trip reports Ensure Bills of Lading (BOLs) are properly signed and submitted Operate and maintain equipment safely while complying with all regulations Follow OSHA, state, and federal safety guidelines Adhere to all company and regulatory safety policies Maintain a valid CDL at all times Immediately report any accidents involving equipment or personnel Notify dispatch promptly of delays, breakdowns, weather issues, or emergencies Perform additional duties as assigned Work Environment & Physical Requirements The following outlines typical job demands and working conditions.
