The role requires a candidate who can engage positively with children and is flexible, with the opportunity to cross-train and assist in other roles (childcare provider, party helper, center associate) to support staffing needs and ensure a full shift when driving routes are inconsistent. Typical working hours are approximately 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM on school days, subject to change based on route needs. Essential Qualifications and Requirements Experience & Skills Proven experience in safe driving practices, preferably with experience transporting children. Must possess a reliable personal vehicle ( not a shared family vehicle) for transport, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record. Must submit a picture of license, registration and insurance for the car you will be driving when working. Note that we need these files for legality but when working you fall under DaniLee's insurance. Must be great at engaging with children and maintaining a positive, safe, and supportive environment during transit. Strong adherence to assigned schedules and punctuality. Flexibility and willingness to perform additional duties (childcare provider, party helper, center worker) as needed by the organization to cover staffing needs. Physical Requirements Ability to lift lightweight equipment (such as car seats and small children) and assist children safely getting in and out of the vehicle.
Compensation and Benefits Rate:
$22-$25 an hour (based on experience)
Reimbursement:
Gas is reimbursed based on miles driven. Core Responsibilities Transportation & Safety Follow an assigned and variable daily schedule for the transportation of school-aged youth. Safely transport children to and from school, their homes, and the learning center. Execute occasional driving requests that may extend to Connecticut (CT). Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks to ensure safety and cleanliness. Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and organizational safety protocols. Program & Staffing Support When transportation schedules are inconsistent or when the organization requires assistance due to staffing call-outs, fill alternate roles such as: Childcare Provider Party Helper Social Hub Associate Work collaboratively with other staff and the management team. Administrative & Communication Maintain accurate records of mileage for reimbursement purposes. Communicate promptly with the management team regarding any changes to the driving schedule, vehicle issues, or delays. Engage positively and professionally with children, families, and staff.
Minimum of two (2) years of licensed driving experience is standard for insurance purposes. Experience working with children aged 4-9 is strongly preferred. Ability to maintain a calm environment and manage student behavior while driving is a plus. Proven track record of punctuality and adherence to strict safety protocols.
Certification:
Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Exceptional time-management skills and a commitment to being on time, every time. Capable of handling unexpected situations or emergencies with a level head.
