Care-Routes Driver DaniLee's Helping Hands Pelham, NY Job Details Part-time $22 - $25 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Mileage reimbursement Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver's License Child safety supervision Passenger assistance Personal transportation assistance Defensive driving Safety standard operating procedures Full Job Description Summary / Overview This is a Part-Time (PT) or Per Diem role responsible for the safe, reliable, and timely transportation of school-aged youth between school, their homes, and the learning center, following an assigned schedule that may vary daily. The role requires a candidate who can engage positively with children and is flexible, with the opportunity to cross-train and assist in other roles (childcare provider, party helper, center associate) to support staffing needs and ensure a full shift when driving routes are inconsistent. Typical working hours are approximately 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM on school days, subject to change based on route needs. Essential Qualifications and Requirements Experience & Skills Proven experience in safe driving practices, preferably with experience transporting children. Must possess a reliable personal vehicle ( not a shared family vehicle) for transport, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record. Must submit a picture of license, registration and insurance for the car you will be driving when working. Note that we need these files for legality but when working you fall under DaniLee's insurance. Must be great at engaging with children and maintaining a positive, safe, and supportive environment during transit. Strong adherence to assigned schedules and punctuality. Flexibility and willingness to perform additional duties (childcare provider, party helper, center worker) as needed by the organization to cover staffing needs. Physical Requirements Ability to lift lightweight equipment (such as car seats and small children) and assist children safely getting in and out of the vehicle.
