Position Summary Child Truck Line is seeking an experienced and dependable Class A Lead Driver to join our team in Canby, Oregon. This leadership role combines hands-on driving responsibilities with driver coordination and customer service. The successful candidate will lead a team of drivers, coordinate trailer movements, and serve as the primary point of contact with our customers to ensure efficient loading and trailer management operations. This position is ideal for a safety-focused professional who enjoys leading others, building customer relationships, and ensuring operations run smoothly. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead and support a team of CDL drivers. Coordinate daily trailer movements and dock assignments with customer personnel. Serve as the primary on-site liaison between the customer and transportation team. Shuttle trailers safely and efficiently between yards, docks, and designated locations. Ensure trailers are positioned correctly for loading and unloading. Monitor driver performance and provide coaching on operational procedures. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports as required by DOT and company policies. Promote and enforce company safety standards and operational procedures. Assist management with scheduling, communication, and operational problem-solving. Respond to changing customer needs and operational priorities in a professional manner. Qualifications Valid Class A CDL with a safe driving record. Minimum 5 years of commercial driving experience preferred. Previous leadership, training, or supervisory experience preferred. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Yard hostler, shuttle, or dedicated account experience is a plus.
