Full-Time Position Overview Global Electric, Inc. is looking for a dependable CDL Truck Driver to operate a Conex/container truck and support material, equipment, and container transportation for our electrical construction projects. This position requires safe driving practices, strong communication, flexibility with changing pickup and delivery schedules, and a willingness to assist with jobsite logistics as needed. Hours may vary based on load volume, pickup locations, delivery needs, and project schedules.
Compensation Starting Wage :
$25.00 - $30.00, depends on experience and qualifications Key Responsibilities Safely operate a CDL Conex/container truck to transport containers, materials, tools, and equipment to and from jobsites, vendors, the shop, and other designated locations. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and promptly report maintenance issues, safety concerns, defects, accidents, or violations. Secure loads properly and verify that containers, materials, and equipment are transported in compliance with company procedures and applicable safety requirements. Coordinate with dispatch, project managers, field supervisors, yard personnel, and vendors regarding pickup and delivery timing, route changes, and jobsite access. Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, driver logs, inspection records, fuel receipts, mileage records, and other required documentation. Plan efficient routes while accounting for traffic, weather, road restrictions, load requirements, and delivery deadlines. Maneuver trucks safely in yards, vendor locations, loading areas, and active construction jobsites. Assist with loading, unloading, staging, and organizing materials or equipment when appropriate and safe to do so. Keep the truck clean, fueled, organized, and ready for daily use. Follow all company policies, DOT requirements, traffic laws, and safe-driving standards. Communicate professionally with coworkers, vendors, customers, and jobsite personnel. Support shop, yard, warehouse, and field teams with transportation-related tasks as needed. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A license required. Clean driving record and ability to meet company, insurance, and DOT driving requirements. Experience operating commercial trucks, container trucks, roll-off-style equipment, or similar heavy vehicles preferred. Ability to safely secure loads and understand weight limits, route restrictions, and jobsite safety expectations. Must be dependable, punctual, safety-minded, and able to work independently. Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with dispatch, project teams, vendors, and field crews. Comfortable driving in urban, rural, highway, yard, and active construction jobsite environments. Ability to complete inspection reports, delivery records, logs, and basic paperwork accurately. Willingness to assist with loading, unloading, staging, and material handling when needed. Ability to pass required drug screening, background checks, and ongoing driving eligibility requirements.
